9/22/16 – Cesar & Helen Chavez Peace Bench Dedication

Cesar & Helen Chavez Peace Bench Dedication State Capitol World Peace Rose Garden in conjunction with the International Day of Peace was a great success.

Two of the Chavez children, Paul and Silvia, were present along with Cesar’s sister and other family members. Mariachis and Aztec dancers thrilled the crowd. The dove release and throwing of rose petals highlighted the unveiling ceremony. A diverse representation of community groups helped with the unveiling and local students helped with various tasks. It was a wonderful event! #IDP
