Youth from schools and faith communities are invited to creatively decorate 8-inch flower pots that are used to hold paper flowers with one of the 60 *Qualities of Peace, such as, Acceptance, Calmness, Compassion, Respect, etc. The “Qualities” are planted by diverse youth during special ceremonies at IWPRG events.
*Qualities of Peace Ceremony. IWPRG created a list of 60 core qualities that, when practiced individually, lead to building global peace collectively. Using the words in ceremonies is a powerful way of educating participating youth about the importance of these character builders while giving them a tangible experience in community action. The hope is that symbolically “planting” these qualities will impress upon them the need to “plant” them within themselves and express them without… in their homes, schools and communities.
